Windows 7 Starter will allow you to run more than 3 programs together

May 24th, 2009 Ashutosh Mishra

The starter version of every OS rolled out by Microsoft has been absolutely horrible. You can’t run more than three programs together, and you can’t change the desktop background, among other crippling stuff. Yes, you CANNOT have a wallpaper of your choice on YOUR desktop!

Things may be slightly better off with Windows 7 though. Slated to be released in the final quarter of this year, Windows 7 Starter will most likely ship without the “max-of-3-programs-together” handicap. And if the Starter-ers are lucky, why, they may even change their desktop backgrounds!

Microsoft, thou art improving! Slowly, but surely.
