I’m not a big fan of WINE, and most apps running with it act up anyway. DownThemAll for F’fox is actually damn good (even for Windows if Firefox is what you use all the time).

Hey have you thought of WINE yet…? I guess it could perhaps run FDM or something in Ubuntu, but i’m not sure. But try it out..!

I had gone through this list earlier, not one of them is good except KGet. I prefer to use minimal tools, so any additional tool needs to be exceptionally good for me to use it.

I must admit I’m not too deep into Linux. I want to use it the way I use Windows, and not by creating scripts and Cron and all (because I can’t).

well besides the list that the previous commenter provided i think that since you are using a Linux distro a small bash script using wget and scheduling through a cron job would do the trick… that’s how i’d do it.
