The latest VLC Player version is buggy

January 18th, 2009 Ashutosh Mishra

VLC is my favorite app for watching movies and videos, but the ridiculous bugs in the latest 0.9.8a Grishenko  release has forced me to look for other options. It simply fires up and gets stuck if I double click on any compatible file; the workout is to manually open VLC and drag the file into it – something which I don’t find very convenient. Unlike the previous versions, all of which were exceedingly smooth to work with, this version just doesn’t click for me. I absolutely loved the 0.9 release of VLC because of all of the GUI tweaks, but 0.9.8a is seriously setting me back.

Are you having similar problems with VLC 0.9.8a in Windows Vista, or any other OS? Do say in your comments.
