Yet another sign that Microsoft is finally starting to ‘open’ up. In a welcome move, Microsoft has announced that the second service pack for it’s popular Office 2007 will include support for the open document format, the default format for Office alternatives like OpenOffice.org. SP2, due to be released on 28th this month, will also allow you to directly publish a document as a PDF file.
Microsoft Office 2007 is already a very robust and productive office suite, and these additions will make it even more popular.
