The much awaited free office and productivity suite from IBM Lotus is finally out of beta and available as a stable release. Symphony 1.0 includes a word processor (Documents), a spreadsheet (Spreadsheets) and a presentation tool (Presentations), all of which are based on the robust OpenOffice.org technology. The jazzy looks and simplicity of use make it a must-have for everyone whose office work is confined to these three tools. Symphony uses the Open Document format by default, and supports native formats of Microsoft Office upto 2003 version. It also supports plug-ins which can extend it’s functionality. The next version of Symphony will include additional features like database and drawing programs. You can download Symphony from the links given below (free registration with IBM Lotus is required).
