<a href="#comment-908" rel="nofollow">@Pallab </a>
I'm not against a 6-month release cycle myself, but I think Canonical always has to push too hard to pop up new Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Edubuntu and Gobuntu versions every 6 months. This results in more bugs that you'd want a mainstream product to have.
Anyway, thanks for the comment. :)

I think the 6 months release cycle is a good thing since Ubuntu is a free software.
As far as aversion to change is concerned, Ubuntu LL should have a spruced up Gnome panel. But yeah, those password prompts can be annoying. Whay do I need admin priviledges to mount my NTFS partitions? They need to come up with permanent priviledges for basic tasks like mounting. Once given to an user account, it stays with it (even after restart).

I'm really excited about Chrome OS myself, but with the state of Internet here in India, there isn't much you can do with it. :|

Amazing post! These are exactly the complaints I had when I installed karmic. The password prompts get really annoying, and the lack in change of GUI also tends to drive away people who never took the time to check out Compiz.

But, to tell the truth, with Chrome OS coming out next year, I probably won't go back to Ubuntu unless they give me a very, very good reason to do so. (I downloaded the beta, and while it's nothing unexpected, it looks very promising to someone like me who uses the web 99% of the time. I could easily imagine dual-booting Chrome OS and 7)
